For Immediate Release Public Meeting Will Examine Speedwell Forge Lake RestorationHARRISBURG – Sen. Mike Brubaker (R-36), Rep. Tom Creighton (R-37) and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will host a public meeting on February 16 to address issues regarding the repair and restoration of Speedwell Forge Lake. Speedwell Forge Lake, a popular recreation site for local anglers, hikers and sportsmen, was completely drawn down in October due to safety concerns after floodwaters damaged the dam and spillway. Local residents voiced overwhelming support for repairing the damage and restoring the lake at a public meeting with the Fish and Boat Commission in November. Fish and Boat Commission representatives will be available at the February 16 meeting to answer questions from the public and provide an update on funding options and other issues relating to the restoration of the lake. "The community response on this issue has been overwhelming, and I am deeply grateful for all of the support for this restoration project," Brubaker said. "I am hopeful that this meeting will help the community move forward to restore the natural beauty of this attraction for future generations." The meeting will be held at the Warwick Middle School Auditorium in Lititz from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Those who are unable to attend the meeting can watch it live online at senatorbrubaker.com. Video of the meeting will also be available online following the hearing. CONTACT: Jenn Frees (717) 627-0036 | ||
