Brubaker Comments on Corbett Budget Address
HARRISBURG - Sen. Mike Brubaker (R-36) offered the following comments
concerning today's budget address by Governor Tom Corbett:
"I am thankful that Governor Corbett kept his pledge to present a balanced
budget that does not increase taxes or fees on hardworking state residents. The
governor spent a great deal of time talking about right-sizing state government
and not spending money that we don't have, and I strongly believe we should heed
his call to control spending and create a more business-friendly environment to
help create new jobs.
"The governor proposed a number of cuts to state programs and agencies, and
we will review the impact of these cuts during the budget hearing process in the
next several weeks. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the coming
months to protect taxpayers, deliver a responsible budget in a timely manner and
make the difficult choices necessary to create opportunities for economic
prosperity and job growth."
