For Immediate Release Senate Passes Brubaker Resolution Honoring Hospitalized VeteransHARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Senate passed a resolution this week saluting hospitalized veterans, according to Sen. Mike Brubaker (R-36), the resolution's sponsor. Senate Resolution 251 designates the week of February 8 through 14, 2010, as National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week in Pennsylvania to express gratitude and appreciation for hospitalized veterans. "Pennsylvania's veterans have served our nation with honor and distinction, and we should never forget the sacrifices they have made to keep us free," Brubaker said. "VA medical centers, outpatient clinics and nursing homes provide a vital service for those who have fought bravely to defend our nation, and I hope that this resolution will build greater awareness of their important role and encourage more citizens to volunteer at these facilities." Brubaker said the week coincides with Valentine's Day to underscore the caring and compassion for those who have served our nation.
