For Immediate Release Brubaker Invites Students to Learn About Agriculture Careers HARRISBURG – Students are encouraged to attend an informational event on careers in agriculture that will take place in Lancaster on March 12, according to Sen. Mike Brubaker (R-36). Pathways to Agricultural Careers is open to 8th and 9th grade students and will be held at the Lancaster campus of Harrisburg Area Community College from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Employers and post-secondary educators will be available to answer questions and provide information about each of the specific careers, and exhibitors will be on hand to offer additional information and door prizes. "The future of agriculture in Pennsylvania depends on the next generation of farmers, and we need to provide our young people with all of the necessary tools and information to continue our rich tradition of farming in the Commonwealth," Brubaker said. "I would urge any student with an interest in agriculture to attend." Senator Brubaker is encouraging students to register by Feb. 27 by contacting his office at (717) 627-0036. The event is free of charge, and parents are welcome to attend. The event is sponsored by Senator Brubaker, the Workforce Investment Board of Lancaster County and the Penn State Cooperative Extension. CONTACT: Jennifer Frees | ||
