Brubaker Will Return COLA to State Treasury 

HARRISBURG -- State Senator Mike Brubaker (R-36) announced today that he will not accept the annual cost of living adjustment (COLA).

Brubaker is among a number of Senate Republicans who have refused this year’s automatic COLA, including all members of Caucus leadership. The COLA will be returned to the state Treasury as prescribed by Senate protocol. 

“Like many states across the nation, Pennsylvania is under a great deal of financial stress,” Brubaker said. “We must trim costs immediately to meet this financial hardship, and the General Assembly is not immune to these cuts. My colleagues and I are taking this proactive measure to do what we can to help Pennsylvania through this period of financial uncertainty.”
