For Immediate Release Senator Brubaker Cancer Free after One MonthLITITZ – State Senator Mike Brubaker (R-36) was given a clean bill of health at his four week post surgery check-up. "I am very happy to say that after extremely thorough testing, I am 100% cancer free," Brubaker announced. Further testing confirmed that the cancer had not spread beyond the prostate. Brubaker was diagnosed this past March with prostate cancer, which is annually identified in 218,890 American men, according to the National Cancer Institute. On July 29, Brubaker underwent the da Vinci prostatectomy surgery, a robot-assisted, minimally invasive surgery that is the preferred treatment for removal of the prostate following early diagnosis of prostate cancer. "I want to thank the fine people of the 36th District for all of their warm wishes and support for myself and my family during this time," added Brubaker.
