Ephrata Township Receives Funding for Community Park

HARRISBURG – State Senator Mike Brubaker (R-36) joined Ephrata Township officials and  representatives from the Ephrata Township road crew and Representative Gordon Denlinger's office today at the Ephrata Township Community Park to acknowledge the $15,000 state grant awarded to the Township to make safety improvements within the Township's community park, which is projected to officially open this summer.

Township Manager Steve Sawyer, Township Supervisors John Weber and Clark Stauffer, and road crew members Tom Huber, Tom Stuber and Dave Lenhardt, accepted the check on behalf of the Township.

The funds will help the Township make improvements along the East Fulton Street entrance, including street widening and curb installation. This project within the Township park is just one of the many projects that the Township is currently working on to have the park opened by this summer.  Some of the other projects such as tennis courts, baseball fields, and hiking trails are also being worked on to complete the park in time for its grand opening.

"I am pleased that Commonwealth of Pennsylvania chose to help Ephrata Township with the expenses associated with fixing some of the safety issues that were within the community park," said Brubaker, who helped facilitate this grant through the state Department of Community and Economic Development. "Parks are a wonderful way to encourage families and friends to come together, and I know that this park will be a significant asset to the Ephrata community."
