Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee to hold meeting in Gallitzin

Listening session is part of Building a Vision for Rural Pennsylvania series

HARRISBURG – State Senators John Eichelberger (R-Hollidaysburg) and John Wozniak (D-Johnstown) will be hosting a listening session on Friday for their colleagues on the Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, Committee Chairman Senator Mike Brubaker (R-36) said today.

The sessions are part of the Building a Vision for Rural Pennsylvania series to help Committee members identify the concerns and priorities of the agriculture and rural communities for the 2007-2008 legislative session.

The public session will be held on Friday, April 13, at 12:45 p.m. at The Lemon House at the Allegheny Portage Railroad, 110 Federal Park Road, Gallitzin.

"These sessions have provided valuable information for my Committee from all across the state, which we will use to build a comprehensive agenda for our Committee," Brubaker said. "I am looking forward to the remaining sessions, because each region of our Commonwealth has a unique perspective on the issues affecting agricultural and rural communities.

"I want to thank my colleagues for being willing to host sessions so we can continue gathering valuable information, and I encourage anyone who would like to share their thoughts to attend these sessions," Brubaker said.

Anyone who would like to attend and/or speak at one of these sessions should contact Senator Brubaker's office at 717-787-4420 or via email at SenateAgRuralAffairs@pasen.gov. Additional information and directions are also available.
