For Immediate Release Senate Agriculture Committee confirms reappointment of Secretary Dennis WolffHARRISBURG – The Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, chaired by state Senator Mike Brubaker (R-Lancaster), unanimously recommended the confirmation for reappointment of Secretary of Agriculture Dennis Wolff in a hearing held this afternoon. During the hearing, Mr. Wolff, a dairy farmer from Millville, Pa., had the opportunity to present opening and closing remarks to the Committee, and in turn, the floor was opened to the Committee to ask questions of Wolff. "I am pleased to offer my support for Mr. Wolff as Secretary of Agriculture," Brubaker said. "I believe he is a qualified and knowledgeable candidate who understands the breadth of agriculture and its related issues, and who is dedicated to working with us to further the broader causes of the industry." Since his nomination for reappointment by Governor Ed Rendell earlier this year, Wolff has been meeting individually with Senators, in addition to taking on the daily responsibilities of the Secretary of Agriculture. With confirmation from the Committee, only a vote from the full Senate is necessary for Wolff to
continue officially serving as Secretary. Kristin Ebersole, Executive Director Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee 717-787-4420 | ||
